Tivat Airport (TIV) is Montenegro's main gateway for Bay of Kotor visitors, but the airport itself is small — a single terminal with limited facilities. There are no rental car counters inside (they're across the road), no train connection, and the local bus to Kotor runs infrequently. Most visitors need a transfer to get to their actual destination.
The good news: Tivat is centrally located for the entire bay. Kotor is just 8 km east, Budva is 20 km south, and Herceg Novi is 30 km northwest. For visitors heading to Croatia, Dubrovnik is 80 km south (about 90 minutes including the border crossing). These are all comfortable distances for a private transfer with a driver who knows the narrow bay roads.
Tivat is also home to Porto Montenegro, a luxury marina that's become a destination in itself. If you're starting or ending a yacht trip, our transfers connect the marina to airports and cities across the region.
Seasonal tips
Jun–Aug: Peak season at Tivat Airport. Flights arrive in clusters and the taxi queue outside can be 30+ minutes. Pre-booking a transfer means your driver is waiting at arrivals when you land.
Apr–May, Sep–Oct: Shoulder season. Fewer flights but the bay is beautiful. Porto Montenegro is lively through October.
Nov–Mar: Minimal flights. If you're arriving in winter, Podgorica Airport (TGD) has year-round connections and we transfer from there to the coast.
Bay road: The single road around the bay is slow (30 km/h average). Don't expect fast travel times even for short distances. Our drivers know the shortcuts.
