Trebinje is Bosnia's sunniest city — a relaxed Herzegovinian valley town with plane-tree-lined squares, Mediterranean atmosphere, and far fewer tourists than Mostar. From Mostar it's about 2h 20m / 115 km south through Republika Srpska. No border crossings (entire route within Bosnia). What the drive looks like

The 115 km route runs south from Mostar through the Neretva valley, then southeast through the Herzegovinian highlands, descending into the Trebinje valley. The road winds through small villages, vineyards, and limestone mountain terrain — Herzegovina at its most authentic. No border crossings; the entire route is within Bosnia and Herzegovina (Federation → Republika Srpska entity boundary, but no actual border).

Realistic door-to-door time is about 2h 20m. The drive itself is part of the experience — Herzegovina valleys, the climb up from Mostar's basin, and the descent toward the Mediterranean climate of the Trebinje valley.

Half-day vs full-day options

• Half-day (5–6 hours): Mostar pickup → Trebinje old town walk + lunch + Hercegovačka Gračanica monastery viewpoint → return. Standard option.
• Full day with Tvrdoš Monastery (7–8 hours): add Serbian Orthodox monastery 5 km west of Trebinje, on 4th-century church foundations with 15th-century wine cellars — wine tasting with the monks, monastery interior. Premium add-on for wine enthusiasts.
