One of Europe's great boat rides, as a long day from the capital: an early private drive north to the Koman jetty, then the ferry gliding through a steep, fjord-like gorge on the flooded Drin. It's an ambitious full day — we start very early and handle all the road logistics.
A private full-day excursion built around the Koman ferry — from €200 per vehicle for the driving. Fuel, tolls and an English-speaking driver included. The ferry ticket is bought at the jetty and is not included; the exact shape of the day depends on the ferry schedule, which we confirm when you book. The Koman ferry is seasonal — the scheduled boat runs daily from 15 April to 5 November, so this trip is not available outside that window.
This is a long, early day. The drive from Tirana to the Koman ferry terminal is about 3 hours — north to Shkodër, then the mountain road past the Vau i Dejës reservoir to the jetty by the Koman dam. We leave very early so you comfortably catch the morning boat.
The ferry is the whole point: a passenger boat that threads a narrow, flooded gorge on the Drin river, walls rising steeply on both sides — often compared to a Norwegian fjord and one of the most scenic journeys in the Balkans. Depending on the day's schedule, the plan is usually the ferry up the gorge toward Fierzë and back, or a one-way sailing with the driver meeting you at the far end — we set the exact arrangement with you in advance around the timetable.
Because it's a private car doing the road, the logistics are handled for you: no dawn bus connections, no worrying about missing the boat. It is, however, a genuine 12–14 hour day. If you'd rather not rush, many travellers stay a night in the north or continue to Valbonë — ask us and we'll suggest an alternative.

No — the transfer covers the private driving to and from the jetty. You buy the ferry ticket at Koman (or in advance if the operator offers it). We time your pickup so you comfortably catch the boat. Note the ferry season: the scheduled boat runs daily from 15 April to 5 November.
Long — about 3 hours' drive each way plus the ferry, so a genuine 12–14 hour day with a very early start. If that's too much, staying a night in the north or continuing to Valbonë is worth considering; ask us.
