Heading the other way? Dubrovnik to Tivat follows the same bay road in reverse, with the same optional Perast stop.
Dubrovnik → Tivat →Tivat to Dubrovnik is a short cross-border transfer — 68 km, one border at Debeli Brijeg, around 1h 30m direct. Tivat is the Bay of Kotor’s gateway: Tivat Airport (TIV) is Montenegro’s main international airport and Porto Montenegro is the marina most yacht and cruise guests stay at. Most bookings on this relation are guests finishing a Montenegro stay and continuing to Dubrovnik for their onward flight or the next leg of a Balkan itinerary.
From Tivat your driver either takes the Kamenari–Lepetane ferry — the ten-minute bay shortcut that runs 24/7 year-round and saves 30–40 minutes — or drives the full bay road via Kotor and Perast when you want the scenery or a stop. The ferry fee is included in your price. From Herceg Novi the coast road leads to the Karasovići / Debeli Brijeg crossing: 5–15 minutes off-peak, 30–60 on summer Saturdays. On the Croatian side the D8 passes Dubrovnik Airport and Cavtat before reaching the city.
Timing matters on this route. For flights from DBV we recommend leaving Tivat at least 4 hours before an international departure in summer, so the border queue never becomes a problem. Cruise guests docking in Gruž and travellers meeting a Dubrovnik pickup get the same fixed price and door-to-door drop-off, and your driver monitors the border situation on the day.
No direct bus runs between Tivat and Dubrovnik — the public option means changing in Herceg Novi and takes three hours or more. A private transfer is door-to-door from any Tivat address, including the marina and the airport terminal, to any address in Dubrovnik, with luggage handled and the border paperwork done by your driver.
