Follow the stunning Adriatic coast from Diocletian's palace to the Pearl of the Adriatic. Pass through the Makarska Riviera, stop at Ston's medieval walls, and arrive at Dubrovnik's doorstep refreshed.
Drive from Split to Dubrovnik in approximately 3h 30m. Private transfer from €365 per vehicle, all-inclusive — fuel, tolls, English-speaking driver, door-to-door.
Your driver collects you anywhere in Split—Diocletian's Palace area, Bacvice, Znjan, the ferry port, or Split Airport if you're connecting from a flight. Luggage loaded, water and Air conditioning on.
A dramatic river canyon meets the Adriatic. Quick photo stop at the viewpoint above the Cetina gorge, or wander through the old pirate town of Omiš. Adventure seekers can zipline across the canyon (book separately).
The highway hugs the coast beneath the dramatic Biokovo mountain. Turquoise coves, pine forests, and whitewashed villages slide past your window. Your driver can pull over at any viewpoint along this stunning stretch.
Home to the second-longest defensive walls in the world and some of Croatia's finest oysters. Walk the walls for panoramic views, then taste fresh oysters at a waterside restaurant in Mali Ston—they cost just €1–2 each. Wine lovers can detour to Pelješac vineyards for a Dingač red tasting.
Arrive at your accommodation anywhere in Dubrovnik—Old Town, Lapad, Ploce, Gruz port, or the cruise terminal. Your driver drops you at the door with luggage. If your hotel is inside the Old Town walls, the driver gets you as close as possible and helps carry bags to the entrance.

Traveling the other way? Dubrovnik to Split is the same route in reverse—same price, same scenic stops.
Book Dubrovnik → Split →Split to Dubrovnik is the reverse of Croatia’s classic Dalmatian coastal transfer — 230 km south along the Adriatic, about 3 hours door-to-door thanks to the Pelješac Bridge (2022) which eliminated the old Bosnian Neum corridor. Most bookings are one-way transfers: travellers who spent 3–5 days in Split and the islands, now heading to Dubrovnik for a cruise departure, flight out of DBV, or a final couple of Adriatic nights before returning home.
Your driver leaves Split on the A1 motorway heading southeast past Omiš (home to the Cetina river canyon and adventure sports) and Makarska Riviera on the coast. At Ploče the motorway ends and the route joins the D8 Adriatic Highway. The 2022 Pelješac Bridge — Croatia’s architectural showpiece, a 2.4 km cable-stayed crossing — lifts the road over Bay of Mali Ston and drops you onto the Pelješac peninsula, Croatia’s premier wine region. From Duži the road joins the coastal D8 south through Slano and Zaton into Dubrovnik. The entire drive stays within Croatia — Schengen-internal, no borders.
Three stops transform this route from transport to a half-day experience. Ston, 90 minutes into the drive, is famous for the 5.5 km Great Wall of Ston (Europe’s longest stone fortification after China’s Great Wall) and for oysters from the Ston–Mali Ston bay — Kapetanova Kuća and Bota šare are the reference oyster restaurants. Pelješac wine tasting (Dingač and Postup, Croatia’s most prized Plavac Mali reds) fits naturally alongside a Ston stop. Trsteno Arboretum, 18 km before Dubrovnik, is a 500-year-old botanical garden with a Renaissance villa — memorable because HBO’s Game of Thrones filmed several King’s Landing garden scenes here. Cavtat, 15 km south of Dubrovnik before the airport, is a quiet harbour town that serves as a calmer accommodation alternative to Dubrovnik itself.
Peak summer (July–August) Saturday traffic on the A1 motorway around Split can add 1–2 hours to the drive — the change-over of rental apartments clogs the coast road. Shoulder seasons (May–June, September) are ideal: full operational schedule, mild weather, and Pelješac vineyards at their best. September-October is wine harvest on the peninsula. Winter is quiet and fast — 2h 45m with no traffic.
Dubrovnik sits at the southern tip of a narrow coastal strip. Our driver drops at any address: Old Town (Pile Gate or Ploče Gate — the main entrances; Old Town itself is walled and pedestrian-only), Lapad or Babin Kuk hotel neighbourhoods, Gruž port (for cruise or ferry departures to Bari, Ancona, Hvar), or directly Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) in Čilipi 21 km south. For cruise arrivals we coordinate with Jadrolinija and international cruise schedules.
FlixBus and Arriva run Split–Dubrovnik 4–6 times daily, take 4–5 hours, and cost €20–30 per person — workable if you skip scenic stops and don’t mind the distant Dubrovnik bus station. No train operates this route. Rental cars work but summer A1 congestion around Split favours someone else doing the driving. Private transfer is door-to-door, allows Ston/Pelješac/Trsteno/Cavtat stops at your pace, and for 2+ passengers is usually competitive on price per person against bus + taxi combinations. Common booking pattern: transfer down on travel day with a 60–90 minute Ston oyster lunch en route, arriving in Dubrovnik early evening relaxed rather than exhausted.
Everything specific to this route.
The direct drive is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes (230 km) via the A1 motorway and coastal road. With a stop at Ston, add 30–45 minutes. Most guests make the trip in about 4 hours total with one stop.
No. Since the Pelješac Bridge opened in 2022, you no longer need to cross through the Neum corridor in Bosnia. The entire journey stays within Croatia—no passport needed, no border delays.
Absolutely. We can meet you at arrivals with a name board and drive you directly to Dubrovnik. The airport is 25 km from Split city centre, adding about 20 minutes to the journey. We also track your flight and include 60 minutes free waiting time.
If you want to stop at Ston for oysters and a wall walk, a morning departure (9–10 AM) works best—you'll arrive in Dubrovnik early afternoon with time to explore. For a direct drive, any time works. We operate 24/7.
Strongly recommended. The walls are spectacular and rarely crowded compared to Dubrovnik's. Fresh oysters at Mali Ston's waterside restaurants cost €1–2 each—one of Croatia's best-kept secrets. Allow 30–45 minutes for a walk and a tasting.
Yes. Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is 20 km south of the city, right along the route. We can drop you at departures at no extra charge if you're catching a flight the same day.
"The coastal drive was breathtaking. We stopped at Ston for oysters and our driver knew the best spot right on the water. Arrived in Dubrovnik relaxed and full of fresh seafood."
"We had an early flight into Split and our driver met us at SPU airport with a name board. Drove us all the way to our hotel in Dubrovnik Old Town. Seamless connection, beautiful views."
"Third time using Easy Balkan for this route. Always on time, always a clean car, and the drivers really know the coast. Way better than the bus which takes 5+ hours."
