Heading to Dubrovnik? Tuzla to Dubrovnik reverses this route through Sarajevo and Mostar to the coast.
Book Tuzla → Dubrovnik →Dubrovnik to Tuzla is a 400-km Adriatic-to-Pannonian long-haul — from Croatia’s UNESCO walled port to north-east Bosnia’s third-largest city on the edge of the Pannonian plain. About 6-7 hours via Mostar and Sarajevo. Tuzla is best known for the Panonica salt lakes (urban bathing in authentic brine reservoirs, unique in Europe), as the birthplace of Yugoslav novelist Meša Selimović, and as the gateway to Srebrenica (130 km south-east) for visits to the Potočari Memorial Centre.
From Dubrovnik north across the Pelješac Bridge to the Bosnia border at Metković. Inside Bosnia the M-17 runs north through Mostar (optional 90-minute UNESCO Stari Most stop), up the Neretva canyon past Jablanica, over Ivan Sedlo pass to Sarajevo. From Sarajevo the M-18 heads north-east through Olovo to Tuzla.
Drop-off at your address. Must-see: Trg Slobode with Meša Selimović monument, Panonska Jezera salt lakes (May-September), Eastern Bosnia Museum, Hussein Paša Mosque (1888). Tuzla International Airport (TZL) is 14 km south-east — a Wizz Air hub for Western European connections.
Public transport Dubrovnik–Tuzla requires at least 2 changes and 10-12 hours. Private car at 6 hours with a Mostar cultural stop is the only practical same-day option. Most bookings connect to the TZL Wizz Air hub for onward Western European flights.
